Who Are We?
We are a women's chorus dedicated to the art of singing four-part harmony in barbershop and other a cappella styles. We have been in existence since 1952 and our membership includes women from all walks of life throughout the Chicagoland area.
What is Barbershop Harmony?
Barbershop harmony is an original American musical form. It is a unique blend of four voices - tenor, lead, baritone and bass - singing unaccompanied. At first barbershop music was limited to male voices. Today there are many women's quartets and choruses.
Who Can Join?
We invite women of all ages who are dedicated to learning and performing 4 part Barbershop music. Previous experience with choral singing is preferred, however, if you have a desire to learn to sing and perform barbershop music you are welcome to try us out. Auditions are held after attending three rehearsals.
