Hi Everyone,

I’ve lost track of the weeks but I know we have another rehearsal on Zoom so I’m getting prepared.  Lots of good things from last week and a few areas to improve.  Hopefully there will be an email survey soon that will ask for your comments and ideas and concerns.  We all need to work together to make the most of this newer (for us ) technology .   I loved seeing everyone and our special fun game at the end was a great way to end the evening.

I know that one thing that works is our breakout rooms so this week we will have two of them.  One on Ain’t Misbehavin and the second on the first part of Sway.

I also have learned that more vocal warmups would be a good way to start the rehearsal.  If anyone in the chorus would like to lead one, please email me.  I would love to have you do one.

We also need to learn where our Mute button is.  It got a little carried away last week.  Once the rehearsal is started we should all have our Mute buttons on . If I learn to slow down a little ( I get carried away myself) then Kelly and I can look for people who raise their hands with a question.  The questions are always good, we just need one at a time and one person answering.  We’ll figure it out.

Dancin Queen choreography is almost finished so I’d like to get that done.

We might also try some interval matching which is an idea from Emily.

I’ve been  trying to find a better place to put my laptop so that I don’t have to turn around  but its a work in progress. Hanging from the ceiling would work but I don’t see that happening.

Some have asked why we can’t do some of the things they see other choirs do on Facebook, etc.  Most of them have expensive equipment and experts to run them.  Thats not us.

We will have more birthdays this month so colorful signs like the one Helen had for Karen would be great.  Show off your creative talents. And don’t forget our party on April 30th.  Bring your favorite pigout food to end the evening.

And lastly, don’t sweat the taping of Lions.  If you want to do it, with or without metronome or by singing with another part. that’s fine.  Or just wait until I come up with another impossible  request!  It was much harder than I thought.  Kelly and I will continue trying to get four parts on lions to line up but you guys can just wait for the final product and then enjoy.

I’m looking forward to Thursday and also to the day we can all be together. Meanwhile,  we have great songs to work on and there is a show in our future.

Alice
