Hi Everyone

Survey has been updated.  Changes made to entire survey so review it all.

I enjoyed singing through all those songs last week. Emily and I are in the process of trying to get a 4 part recording of It don’t mean a thing.  Give us a while but it will help to hear how the parts fit together.  It is not a typical barbershop sound.

I asked for thoughts about our rehearsals and I’ve already received some.  One thought was about memorizing our songs.

We’ve gotten very lazy.  Since the survey showed us that New Orleans will definitely be on our next show, it makes sense to memorize that one right now.  The longer we know a song, the better we sing it.  So Emily had an idea about testing our memory on a piece.  I have some ideas as well so the first thing you need to do is memorize the music and the words.  I’ll talk more about the drills we’ll use to check our memory next week at rehearsal.  So start memorizing.

We’ll also zero in on Will the Circle since that is also a “winner”.  Getting the rhythm and grace notes correct is the challenge . We will be in breakout rooms not by parts but random to speak as well as sing the correct rhythms.  Everyone should come prepared to count, sing or speak out loud to check yourself.

And finally we’ll review Soon which still needs work on entrances.  That is our next video .

Ken is coming on March 25 and I plan to start a new song that week as well.  Lots on our plate.

See you at the board meeting or at rehearsal next week.

Alice
