Hope everyone found the link for the rehearsal. I try to remember to put it on each director’s notes but sometimes it vanishes. It is always the same link.
Meanwhile, I hope all of you are working on the memory for New Orleans. If you have questions about it, refer back to last weeks director’s notes. This week I will ask someone to pick a strip and then read it. I will then draw a chorus members name out of MY ziplock bag and that person does whatever is on the chorus members strip. So everyone needs to come prepared. If you draw a blank when asked, don’t worry, you are not alone. But lets give it a try. We’ll do one practice run before we start. Have fun with it. If you can say the words without saying them in rhythm, that would be great but if not just say them with a swing. Anything is better that nothing.
We are working on a “gold standard” for Soon and will have that soon. I do want to keep working on Will the Circle and also Route 66 during rehearsal.
Don’t forget to order additional cookbooks. I believe the order is to be in by April 1st. They make great birthday gifts, thank you gifts, cheer you up gifts etc. And it supports the chorus. $15 a cookbook. Go to the donate button and order. Just make sure to note that its for cookbooks. There is a little pencil that points to the message screen.
We have two guest musicians scheduled for April and May, one each month. I will tell you more about them when plans are definite. Very excited to have them work with us.
We also have a new song that I hope to start in April. Some changes and additions are being made to the music which is the reason we don’t have it ready for prime time. I will tell you though that it is a neat arrangement of Aquarius. Harmonies are great and it’s not a very hard arrangement so we can really belt it out. Nothing like It don’t mean a thing.
Meanwhile, practice warming up with the techniques that Ken has taught us and I’ll see you on Thursday.

Ain’t Misbehavin’ is a hit! — At least among a couple dozen or so of my Facebook friends. My share engendered a number of “likes” and comments — all favorable. One friend said she likes the “oldies: — she meant the song, not the singers!
See you on Thursday!
