Hi Everyone,

Watch for news about our opening which currently is scheduled for July 1st.  We still need to fine tune our contract with the church and negotiate the cost but we are on track to start the first Thursday in July.  Stay tuned.

I hope you are sharing our newest video.  It was truly an all chorus effort to put this together.  We now have material ready to promote our chorus to venues that just might hire us.  Of course, we need to be off the paper if we are going to perform the songs so we have work to do.

Just a shout out to Beverly and Marshall on their 61st Wedding anniversary.  We’ll sing to them when we get back together.  And Brette had a birthday last week so we need to wish her a happy birthday as well.

I asked for ideas for  our rehearsals and thankfully got some.  Be prepared to sing when called on this Thursday.  Some fun games planned.  I also found an interesting pitch recognition video that we’re going to use as part of our warm up.  Something different.

Once we are back in person I hope to start at least two new songs.  Ilene and I will be working on that.  Summer is always a good time to learn a new Dec. holiday song  and work on the harder songs, like Sleigh Ride.  And just to peak your curiosity, I would like to learn a piece that I’ve always wanted the chorus to do but felt it was just too hard.  But guess what.  If I don’t do it now, I will have run out of time so you are forewarned.  I just need to figure out how to teach it.  Not even Ilene, our repertoire chair,  knows what it is.  And no one has done it except Ann.  I’ll be curious to know if Ann figures out what it is.

Again, thank you to everyone for hanging in for the last 15 months.  We are a stronger, more unified chorus because of it.  Covid can’t get us down.

See you Thursday.

Alice
